Content Creation — [YOUR ORGANIZATION] Standards
Brand Voice
[YOUR BRAND ARCHETYPE — e.g., Hero, Expert, Guide]: [3-5 adjectives that describe the voice — e.g., energetic, sharp, smart, clear, confident, generous]
Writing Principles
- Lead with insight, not introduction — skip "[In today's rapidly evolving landscape...]"
- Data-first claims — back assertions with [YOUR ORGANIZATION]'s research where possible
- Active voice throughout
- Specific over vague — "[actual numbers]" not "[vague superlatives]"
- Short paragraphs — 2-3 sentences max for digital content
- Subheads every 2-3 paragraphs for scannability
Tone by Content Type
| Type | Tone | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Blog post | [e.g., Authoritative, energetic] | [e.g., 800-1200 words] |
| Newsletter article | [e.g., Concise, action-oriented] | [e.g., 300-500 words] |
| Thought leadership | [e.g., Analytical, provocative] | [e.g., 1000-2000 words] |
| One-pager | [e.g., Dense, data-driven] | 1 page |
| Web copy | [e.g., Clear, benefit-focused] | Varies |
| Social teaser | [e.g., Sharp, curiosity-driving] | 1-3 sentences |
| Press release | [e.g., Wire-ready, journalistic] | 400-550 words (body) |
Key Research & Programs to Reference
When relevant, weave in [YOUR ORGANIZATION]'s research and programs as evidence:
- [Program/Research 1]: [key stat or finding — e.g., "+X% improvement in Y"]
- [Program/Research 2]: [key stat or finding]
- [Program/Research 3]: [key stat or finding]
- [Add more as applicable]
Formatting Rules
- Use [YOUR ORGANIZATION FULL NAME] ([ACRONYM]) on first reference
- Never "[common mistake — e.g., 'the' + acronym]" — just "[ACRONYM]"
- Spell out acronyms on first use: [Example Program Full Name] ([ACRONYM])
- For Word docs: [font name + size]
- For presentations: [headline font], [body font]
