Product compliance check
Skill Zerif007/Claude_Legal-Bangladesh_Edition/bd-consumer-product-legal/skills/product-compliance-check
Checks a product or marketing plan against Bangladesh consumer/product law — CRPA 2009 offences (adulteration, false advertising, weight/measure, price display), BSTI mandatory-certification list, Safe Food Act 2013 obligations for food businesses, labelling and Bangla-language requirements, tobacco-adjacent restrictions. Use for "can we sell/advertise this", "label review", "DNCRP risk".From its SKILL.md

2 things to look at
- 25 days oldThe repository was created 25 days ago. New is not bad, but a brand new repository carrying a familiar-sounding name is the shape a typosquat arrives in, and there has been no time for anyone else to find a problem with it.
- 0 stars0 stars. Stars are a popularity signal and not a quality one, but at this level it is likely that nobody has read this closely except its author, and you would be relying on your own review.

Product & Marketing Compliance Check — Bangladesh
Config gate: product register. Output = attorney-review compliance matrix.
Statutory anchors (links via references/full-statute-corpus.csv)
| Instrument | Practice point |
|---|---|
| Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 | ss.37-57 offence catalogue: false ads, counterfeits, short weight, price-list failures; DNCRP fines; consumer complaint within 30 days of cause [verify] |
| Safe Food Act 2013 | food-business licensing, additive/contaminant limits, BFSA powers, mobile-court enforcement |
| BSTI Act 2018 | mandatory certification marks list (SRO-updated), import consignment testing |
| Weights & Measures (metrology) lineage | packaging declarations [verify current instrument] |
| Tobacco control Act 2005 (amended 2013) | ad ban, packaging warnings (graphic, Bangla), sponsorship limits |
| Import/Export Policy Orders | period orders — labelling & Bangla-manual requirements for imports |
Procedure
- Classify the product: food / BSTI-mandatory / restricted (tobacco, infant formula — BMS Act 2013 strict marketing ban) / general.
- Matrix each claim on pack/ad copy against CRPA false-advertising exposure — flag superlatives without substantiation, price-comparison claims, "No.1" claims.
- Licences: enumerate required (BSTI mark, BFSA licence, trade licence, import registration), status per register.
- Enforcement exposure: DNCRP fine ranges, mobile-court (Mobile Court Act 2009) exposure, recall triggers; repeat-offence escalations.
- Output GREEN/YELLOW/RED per item with cure steps.
Guardrails
Infant-formula (BMS) and tobacco marketing are near-absolute bans — never draft around them; escalate. Bangla-labelling defaults apply; English-only packs are a finding.
