Reasonable Suspicion 2-Hour Supervisor Course Documentation

Per § 382.603, every supervisor must complete 60 minutes of training on each of alcohol misuse and controlled substance use indicators. The "2-hour" reference is the combined total.

Course content (per FMCSA)

Physical, behavioral, speech, performance indicators of probable drug/alcohol use
The reasonable-suspicion testing requirement
The supervisor's role in observation
Documentation of observed behavior

Hours: 60+ minutes alcohol + 60+ minutes drug = 2 hours minimum

Frequency

Initial: before supervisor can make reasonable-suspicion calls
