Daily Brief Generator

Generate a structured daily business briefing from any data sources in under 60 seconds.

Description

Daily Brief Generator produces a morning briefing that tells you exactly what matters today: revenue status, pipeline movement, content performance, team tasks, and fires to put out. It pulls from whatever data sources you have — CRM exports, spreadsheets, dashboards, or raw notes — and outputs a scannable brief you can read in 2 minutes.

No more starting your day checking 7 different tabs. One brief. Everything that matters. Nothing that doesn't.

Activation

This skill activates when:

  • The user asks for a morning briefing or daily brief
  • The user wants a summary of their business status
  • The user provides business data and asks "what should I focus on today?"
  • The user mentions daily standup, morning routine, or business dashboard

Trigger phrases: "morning brief", "daily briefing", "what's happening today", "business summary", "daily standup", "start my day", "what should I focus on"

Instructions

When asked to generate a brief, follow this process:

  1. Identify available data: Ask what sources exist (CRM, spreadsheet, notes, previous briefs). If none provided, generate the template with placeholder prompts.

  2. Extract signals: From the provided data, identify:

    • Revenue numbers and trajectory
    • Anything time-sensitive or at risk
    • Pipeline changes in the last 24-48 hours
    • Scheduled commitments
  3. Prioritize ruthlessly: The TOP 3 PRIORITIES section is the most important. Apply this filter:

    • Does it generate revenue today? (Priority 1)
    • Does it prevent revenue loss? (Priority 2)
    • Does it create future revenue? (Priority 3)
    • Everything else is noise.
  4. Flag fires: Anything that will cost money, lose a client, or miss a deadline if not handled TODAY goes in FIRES. Be specific about the action needed, not just the problem.

  5. Keep it scannable: The entire brief should be readable in under 2 minutes. No paragraphs. Bullets and numbers only.

Example

Input

I have 3 clients: Bryson ($4k/mo, content pipeline running, day 13 of eval), TrueBrand (owes me $2,045, invoice sent March 1), and a new lead Mike from GreenTree who wants to meet this week. Yesterday I published 2 Instagram posts for Bryson, one got 340 likes. I have $2,000 MTD revenue, target is $8,000. No calls scheduled today.

Output

Daily Brief — March 26, 2026

Generated at 8:00 AM

REVENUE SNAPSHOT

  • MTD Revenue: $2,000 / $8,000 target (25%) -- behind pace
  • Pipeline Value: $6,045 ($4,000 Bryson renewal + $2,045 TrueBrand AR)
  • At Risk: TrueBrand invoice 25 days overdue
  • Closing This Week: GreenTree (new lead, meeting TBD)

FIRES

  1. TrueBrand $2,045 overdue — 25 days past due. Send final notice today with 48-hour deadline. Escalate to phone call if no response by noon.
  2. GreenTree meeting not scheduled — Mike expressed urgency. Book the call TODAY before he cools off or finds someone else.

TOP 3 PRIORITIES

  1. Book GreenTree call — Why: New revenue opportunity, inbound lead with high intent. Fastest path to closing the $6K MTD gap.
  2. Collect TrueBrand payment — Why: $2,045 sitting in AR. Phone call > email at this stage.
  3. Bryson content: double down on what's working — Why: 340 likes signals a winning format. Produce 2 more in that style today.

PIPELINE MOVEMENT (Last 24h)

  • New leads: GreenTree (Mike, owner, ~$800K revenue, needs admin automation)
  • Moved forward: None
  • Gone cold: TrueBrand (no payment response)
  • Lost: None

CONTENT STATUS

  • Published yesterday: 2 IG posts for Bryson (1 hit: 340 likes)
  • Scheduled today: Check Bryson content queue
  • Performance: The 340-like post is 3x above average — analyze what made it work

CLIENT HEALTH

  • Bryson: GREEN — Day 13 of 60-90 eval. Pipeline running. 340-like post is a win.
  • TrueBrand: RED — Overdue payment. Relationship at risk.

CALENDAR

  • No calls scheduled. Fix this. Book GreenTree and a TrueBrand follow-up.

YESTERDAY'S SCORECARD

  • Content published: 2/2
  • Revenue collected: $0
  • New leads: 1

Customization

Adjust the brief sections based on your business:

  • Solo operator: Remove "Team Tasks", add "Energy/Focus Check"
  • Agency: Add "Deliverables Due" section with client deadlines
  • SaaS: Add "Churn Signals" and "Feature Requests" sections
  • Sales team: Add "Rep Leaderboard" and "Call Recordings to Review"

The template is modular — add or remove sections to match your operating rhythm.
