SCI Reviewer Preflight
Overview
Run a reviewer-style safety audit before submission or major external review.
Core principle: find the objection before the reviewer does.
Audit Areas
- title/abstract/conclusion claim alignment
- method definitions and symbols
- baseline/reference clarity
- result-to-claim mapping
- literature support
- limitation honesty
- reproducibility and artifact boundaries
- figure/table readability
- LaTeX and citation health
Severity Labels
| Severity | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Blocker | likely rejection or arXiv/submission failure |
| Major | likely reviewer attack, fix before SCI |
| Minor | clarity or formatting issue |
| Track B | acceptable for arXiv, needed for journal version |
Output
- prioritized findings
- fix-now checklist
- track-B debt list
- submission readiness judgment
Common Mistakes
- Producing a flattering review instead of attack points.
- Treating arXiv readiness as SCI readiness.
- Failing to separate current evidence from future validation.
