Quote Readiness Checklist

Prepare a safe, useful preflight before anyone drafts a priced quote.

Rules

  • Extract only facts explicitly stated in the inquiry or supplied attachments.
  • Do not invent measurements, materials, hardware, finish, site conditions, installation work, permits, tax, schedule, prices, or contract terms.
  • Convert ambiguity into a specific client question.
  • Never send a quote, sign a document, charge a deposit, or promise a date.

Output

Return these sections in this order:

  1. Confirmed facts.
  2. Scope still to define.
  3. Questions for the client.
  4. Internal checks before pricing.
  5. Suggested next step.

Required checks

Before a human prices the work, confirm:

  • site address and a verified measurement source;
  • cabinet configuration, materials, exposed edges, and construction assumptions;
  • hinges, slides, pulls, organizers, and hardware quantities;
  • finish system, sheen, sample approval, and paint or stain responsibility;
  • delivery, parking, stairs, protection, occupancy, installation, scribing, trim, demolition, and other-trade handoffs;
  • exclusions, lead time, payment milestones, change-order handling, and warranty wording.

If the shop has an approved pricebook, map only exact known components to it. Any unmatched component remains an unresolved question or an estimator task.

Closing language

Write a short client-facing follow-up only after the checklist. Explain that the information is needed for an accurate fixed quote. Do not imply that a price or installation date has been approved.
