2 things to look at
- no licenseNo license file was found in the repository. Code published without one is not open source by default, so using it at work is a question for whoever answers licensing questions where you are.
- 8 stars8 stars. Stars are a popularity signal and not a quality one, but at this level it is likely that nobody has read this closely except its author, and you would be relying on your own review.

Lifecycle Marketing
Overview
This skill covers best practices for structuring lifecycle marketing programs with clear ownership and revenue accountability. All practices are sourced exclusively from Exit Five podcast guests. With only one episode contributing to this skill, coverage is intentionally narrow — gaps reflect the current source material, not omissions.
Revenue Ownership & Accountability
When structuring a lifecycle marketing role, assign the lifecycle marketer explicit ownership of a specific expansion and upsell revenue number — not just activity metrics or general adoption goals. This accountability should mirror how demand gen owns MQL or pipeline targets: a concrete number the marketer is responsible for hitting. (Source: Dave Gerhardt, Episode #335)
Do not distribute the expansion revenue target across multiple teams without designating a single clear owner. Diffuse ownership means no one is truly accountable, and the target will go unmet. (Source: Dave Gerhardt, Episode #335)
Ensure the lifecycle marketer is revenue-minded by design. Tactical activities — webinars, newsletters, in-app messaging — should be evaluated through the lens of whether they move the expansion revenue number, not executed as standalone programs disconnected from a financial outcome. (Source: Dave Gerhardt, Episode #335)
What NOT To Do
- Don't assign lifecycle marketing only "adoption" activities without a revenue target. Without a number to own, lifecycle efforts lose focus and strategic priority. (Source: Dave Gerhardt, Episode #335)
- Don't spread expansion revenue responsibility across multiple teams without a designated owner. Shared ownership of a revenue target typically means no one owns it. (Source: Dave Gerhardt, Episode #335)
- Don't treat lifecycle marketing tactics (webinars, newsletters, in-app messaging) as ends in themselves. They should be instruments toward a measurable revenue outcome, not just engagement activities. (Source: Dave Gerhardt, Episode #335)
