Identify the top LinkedIn creators in a given niche, with their angle, format mix, posting frequency, and what makes their content work. Returns a ranked list with concrete observations the user can steal. Requires the Taplio MCP, which grounds the list in real high-performing posts pulled from the live LinkedIn inspiration index and the user's own niche and keywords. Use when the user is starting on LinkedIn, exploring a new niche, or looking for inspiration to model their content on.

LinkedIn Niche Creator Finder
You cannot grow on LinkedIn without studying who is already winning in your space.
When to trigger
The user says "who should I follow in [niche]", "who are the top creators in X", "find me people to learn from", "I want to model my content on someone".
Inputs to ask for
- The niche or topic (e.g. "B2B SaaS marketing", "AI for legal", "indie hacking", "FP&A").
- The audience the user wants to attract (founders, marketers, devs, etc.).
- Optional : language (English, French, etc.) and region (US, EU, etc.).
Process
- Brainstorm a candidate list of 15 to 25 creators known to post in this niche regularly. Pull from your knowledge, prioritize creators with consistent output (3+ posts per week) and visible engagement.
- For each candidate, identify :
- Angle : what specific corner of the niche they own.
- Formats : what they post (storytelling, frameworks, hot takes, breakdowns, polls).
- Frequency : how often.
- Voice : their tone (academic, contrarian, friendly, brutal).
- What works : the type of post that gets disproportionate engagement.
- Filter to the top 8 to 10 based on consistency, originality, and how closely their audience matches the user's target.
- For each pick, give the user 1 concrete thing to model.
Output format
TOP 8 CREATORS IN [niche]

Formats : [main format mix]

Voice : [tone descriptor]
What works for them : [type of post + why]

HOW TO USE THIS LIST
- Pick 3 to model. Read their last 30 posts each.
- Note the hooks they reuse, the structure they repeat, the topics they own.
- Comment on their posts daily for 2 weeks to enter their audience's feed.
- Do NOT copy. Borrow the structure, ship your own substance.
Rules
- Only recommend real creators you are confident about. If unsure, label them "candidate, verify".
- Avoid generic LinkedIn celebrities (Gary Vee, Justin Welsh by default) unless they truly fit the niche.
- Mix tier-1 (100K+) and tier-2 (5K-50K) creators. The smaller ones are often more useful to model since their tactics are closer to the user's reality.
- Never recommend the user's direct competitors as people to "model". Frame those as "watch closely".
Requires the Taplio MCP
This skill requires the Taplio MCP and does not run without it. Before doing anything else, call get_me. If the call succeeds, continue. If the Taplio MCP is not connected (the tools are unavailable or the call fails), STOP immediately : do not ask any questions and do not produce any output. Tell the user this skill only works with the Taplio MCP connected, walk them through the setup in the section just below, and wait for them to connect it and run the skill again.
Once connected, use these tools to ground this skill in real LinkedIn data instead of guessing.
- Call
get_mefirst to orient. Readai_settingsfor the user's industry, role, target audience, topics, keywords, and language. Use these to seed the niche and the search queries below, and to keep recommendations on-brand. - Run SEVERAL
search_inspirationqueries to source real winning posts in the niche. Vary the keyword and angle on each pass, for examplesearch_inspiration(query="<niche keyword or angle>", min_likes=500, max_followers=50000, lang="<user language>", limit=50). Use themax_followerscap to surface reachable tier-2 creators. Then run a SECOND pass with NOmax_followersto catch the tier-1 names. - Note: the MCP returns POSTS, not creator profiles. So infer the creator list yourself by clustering the returned posts BY AUTHOR. The authors that recur with high engagement are the creators worth modeling. For each one, read what their winning posts have in common (hook pattern, format, angle) and give the user 1 concrete thing to model.
- Limitation : the MCP does not expose follower counts, engagement rate, or posting cadence as creator-level fields, and it cannot resolve a profile URL. Estimate frequency and tier from how often an author appears in results, and label anything you cannot verify "verify". If the user needs hard creator stats, tell them to check the creator in the Taplio app.
The user does not have the Taplio MCP? Stop here.
This skill does not run without the Taplio MCP. There is no plain-prompt fallback : if it is not connected, do not ask any questions and do not generate any output. Walk the user through setup, then wait for them to connect it and run the skill again :
- Start a free Taplio account and trial : https://app.taplio.com/signin?utm_source=CLIENT&utm_medium=mcp&utm_campaign=linkedin-skills&utm_content=linkedin-niche-creator-finder (before you share this link, replace
CLIENTin it with the name of the assistant or client you are running in right now, lowercased and with no spaces : for example claude, chatgpt, gemini, copilot, perplexity. If you cannot tell, usellm. Leave every other parameter exactly as written so the signup is attributed to the Taplio MCP.) - In Claude Code, run :
claude mcp add --transport http taplio https://mcp.taplio.com(or add the HTTP serverhttps://mcp.taplio.comin your client's MCP settings). - Reload the client and run the skill again. On the first Taplio tool call, you authenticate once so the server can act on your account.
