SEO Bezoekersmagneet Skill

Purpose

Foundation skill for understanding why SEO matters and what Google evaluates. Use this when onboarding a new Weblyfe client site, explaining SEO strategy to a client, or auditing whether a site is positioned to compete for organic traffic. Codifies the "de eerste, de beste" philosophy from Seyed's Weblyfe University course.

Core principles

  1. "Je doet er goed aan om de eerste, de beste te zijn" - rank 1 is not just better, it is exponentially better in clicks.
  2. Google evaluates 6 factors: Relevantie, Populariteit, Uniciteit, Actualiteit, Kwaliteit, Leesbaarheid.
  3. SEO has two jobs: attract new visitors AND manage your reputation (what shows when someone Googles your brand name).
  4. Google is permanent infrastructure. Social media platforms come and go; Google has been the dominant search engine for 20+ years.
  5. On-page SEO = what is on your own site. Off-page SEO = what others say about your site (backlinks, reviews).
  6. Organic search is a compounding asset. SEA stops when budget stops; SEO keeps delivering.
  7. Position 1 to 2 jump: +28.4% CTR. Position 5 to 4: +43.1%. Biggest gains are in the top 5.
  8. Reputation management: a well-optimised brand page owns the Knowledge Panel (address, reviews, opening hours) and controls what strangers see first.

How to apply (for any new Weblyfe site)

  • Verify Google Analytics is installed and Organic Search channel shows data under Acquisition > All Traffic > Channels.
  • Confirm Google Search Console is linked and verified.
  • Define the 6-factor goal for the site: which queries should it rank for (Relevantie), what makes it unique (Uniciteit), how often will content be updated (Actualiteit).
  • Set up Google Business Profile if the client has a physical or local presence - this feeds the Knowledge Panel.
  • Frame SEO goals in positions, not just traffic: "get from position 8 to position 4" is more concrete than "get more traffic."
  • Explain to client that results take months, not weeks. SEO is an investment, not a campaign.

Anti-patterns (what the PDF says NOT to do)

  • Competing only on SEA without building organic presence. Budget runs out; the tap closes.
  • Ignoring reputation management. If a competitor or bad review dominates the brand SERP, that is an SEO problem too.
  • Treating Google and social media as equivalent channels. Social media algorithms change constantly; Google's core ranking logic is stable.

Examples and templates

CTR benchmark (from PDF slide):

  • Position 1: ~31%
  • Position 2: ~14%
  • Position 3: ~10%
  • Positions 4-10: declining steeply
  • Page 2+: near zero

Moving up one position increases relative CTR by approximately +30.8%.

Reputation use case: when someone Googles "IMU" (Internet Marketing Unie), the Knowledge Panel shows 4.8 stars, 195 Google reviews, opening hours. That is SEO working as reputation management, not just traffic.
