Skill nilsclabb/yellowpages/skills/yellowpages/frontend-architecture

Conventions for React app structure, TanStack Router file-based routing, state management separation (Zustand vs Convex vs TanStack Query), data fetching patterns, and component organization. Use when: building React pages, adding routes, choosing where to put state, wiring up data fetching, creating mutation hooks, checking permissions on the frontend, or organizing components by feature. From its SKILL.md

2 things to look at

  • no licenseNo license file was found in the repository. Code published without one is not open source by default, so using it at work is a question for whoever answers licensing questions where you are.
  • 1 stars1 stars. Stars are a popularity signal and not a quality one, but at this level it is likely that nobody has read this closely except its author, and you would be relying on your own review.

Frontend Architecture

React/Vite app conventions for routing, state, and data fetching. The core rule: state has three homes, and picking the wrong one causes bugs.

The State Separation Rule

State typeToolExample
Global singletonsZustand storeauth, toasts, theme, locale
Backend entity dataConvex reactive queriesconsultants, missions, applications
External API dataTanStack Querythird-party APIs, non-Convex services
Local UI stateuseStateopen/closed, form draft, hover

Convex reactive queries are the DEFAULT for backend data. TanStack Query is only for non-Convex external calls.
