/repo-init-node — Project Scaffolding

Scaffold a new TypeScript + pnpm project with opinionated defaults.

Step 1: Ask the User

Before creating any files, ask the user for:

1. Project description — used in package.json description and CLAUDE.md project section.
2. Node.js version — default 20.
3. Any additional ESLint rules or Prettier overrides — default: none.

Step 2: Create Project Files

Create the following files. Replace {{DESCRIPTION}} with the user's project description and {{NODE_VERSION}} with the chosen Node.js version.

Apply any Prettier overrides the user requested on top of this config.

## Project

## Tech Stack

- **Language:** TypeScript 5.9 (strict mode, ES2022 target, Node16 modules)
- **Runtime:** Node.js {{NODE_VERSION}}

## Commands

- `pnpm dev` — run with tsx (hot reload)

Step 3: Install Dependencies

Run:

pnpm add @ianvs/prettier-plugin-sort-imports
pnpm add -D typescript tsx @eslint/js eslint eslint-config-prettier prettier typescript-eslint globals

Step 4: Initialize Git

If the directory is not already a git repo, run:

git init

Step 5: Confirm

Tell the user the project is ready and list the created files.
