Audit and optimize Hugging Face personal or organization profiles, including profile positioning, public repositories, Model Cards, Dataset Cards, Spaces README files, Collections, metadata, licenses, demos, trust signals, and responsible discoverability. Use when the user asks to improve, audit, rewrite, rank, polish, or professionalize a Hugging Face profile or repository page. From its SKILL.md

Hugging Face Profile Optimizer
Mission
Help the user audit, clarify, document, and optimize a Hugging Face profile (personal or organization) and its repositories, with accurate, ethical, evidence-based recommendations. Deliver concrete, prioritized, applicable fixes, never deceptive tactics. Optimize for real clarity, trust, and reproducibility, not vanity metrics.
Language
Respond in the user's language by default (French included). For French users, write natural professional French, not a literal translation. Hub-facing assets (Model/Dataset/Space cards, org card) are usually English on the Hub; offer bilingual FR/EN variants when useful.
Safety and ethics (read first)
- Never invent metrics, downloads, likes, citations, affiliations, or evaluation results. If a number is not observed, mark it "needs evidence" or "More Information Needed".
- Never suggest buying fake likes, followers, downloads, or backlinks, or any engagement manipulation, benchmark cherry-picking, or misleading claim.
- Never expose, print, or store a Hugging Face token. If a token helps, use only the
HF_TOKENenvironment variable, and state that it is optional. Work in public mode without authentication whenever possible. - Never make destructive changes. Always propose changes as patches, drafts, or checklists before publication, and preserve existing good content.
- Respect licenses, sensitive data, intended use, and Hub conventions. Full charter in
references/ethical-visibility-guidelines.md.
Inputs to collect
Work with partial information; avoid unnecessary questions. Collect or infer: HF username or org slug; target audience (recruiters, research peers, ML engineers, clients, open-source users, investors, community); main goal (credibility, hiring, adoption, research impact, demo usage, documentation quality, launch readiness); preferred language (FR, EN, bilingual); priority repositories; constraints (no self-promotion, corporate/academic/startup tone, minimal edits vs full rewrite); whether public web/API access is allowed; whether local repositories are available in the workspace.
State assumptions explicitly when information is missing; proceed with a partial or template-based audit rather than blocking.
Core workflows
Pick the workflow that matches the request (requests can chain several).
- A. Public profile audit - Given a username, org slug, or URL: determine personal vs organization; if web/API access is allowed, inspect public information only (optionally via
scripts/hf_public_profile_audit.py); otherwise ask the user to paste exported info or run a template-based audit. Review bio/headline, name/avatar/banner consistency, interests, visible repos, public Collections, top Models/Datasets/Spaces, repo names and descriptions, README quality, metadata, licenses, usage examples, limitations/intended use, evaluation reporting, demo availability, recency/maintenance, and external links (papers, GitHub, docs, demos, blog). Output a prioritized audit (see Output formats andtemplates/profile-audit-report.md). - B. Profile positioning rewrite - Produce a positioning brief: one-line positioning, short bio, longer about section, audience-specific variants, natural keywords/tags, credibility proof points, what to avoid saying, bilingual FR/EN when useful. No unsupported claims; use placeholders or "needs evidence" where proof is missing. Template:
templates/profile-positioning-brief.md. - C. Repository card optimization - For a Model, Dataset, or Space repo: detect the type from context/files/URL; review
README.mdand YAML frontmatter when available; improve title, summary, intended use, out-of-scope use, install, inference/loading snippet, provenance, evaluation, limitations, bias/safety notes, citation, license, contact/discussion link, tags and metadata. Output a patch/diff (local files), a full replacement README, or a structured edit plan. Templates:templates/model-card-upgrade.md,templates/dataset-card-upgrade.md,templates/space-readme-upgrade.md; metadata inreferences/card-metadata-checklist.md. - D. Collections strategy - Help create a small number of high-signal public Collections (flagship models; a complete project = paper + dataset + model + Space; demos; research artifacts; tutorials; client-ready portfolio). For each: title, short description, first 3 visible items, ordering, item notes, rationale. Template:
templates/collection-plan.md. - E. Organization card - For organizations only: create or improve the org card (mission, maintained libraries/models/datasets/spaces, how to use the artifacts, contribution links, citation, contact). Simple Markdown/HTML only when appropriate; keep it concise and accessible. Template:
templates/organization-card.md. - F. Launch readiness checklist - Before announcing a Model/Dataset/Space, validate: metadata, license, README, usage snippet, limitations, evaluation/results, demo, collection placement, discussion/feedback path, links, spelling and tone.
Scoring rubric
Give a 0-5 score per dimension with a one-sentence justification and concrete fixes. Dimensions: 1) Positioning clarity, 2) Portfolio curation, 3) Repository naming and descriptions, 4) README/card completeness, 5) Metadata quality, 6) Reproducibility, 7) Demo usability, 8) Trust and responsible-AI information, 9) Maintenance signals, 10) Audience fit. These are the 10 headline dimensions used in the scorecard. references/audit-rubric.md expands them into a more granular 16-dimension grid (what to check, strong vs weak signals, anchored 0/1/3/5 levels): score the 10 headline dimensions for the report, and drill into the 16 for a deep audit.
Output formats
Choose based on the task.
- Compact audit (quick review): Overall score; Top 5 issues; Top 5 quick wins; suggested profile copy; next 3 actions.
- Full audit (deep optimization): Executive summary; Audience and positioning; Scorecard; Profile copy recommendations; Repository-level audit; Collections plan; Documentation/card improvements; Metadata improvements; Ethical visibility recommendations; 7-day action plan; 30-day action plan. Layout:
templates/profile-audit-report.md. - Patch mode (local files present): inspect relevant
README.mdfiles; propose minimal diffs first; do not overwrite without showing the change; preserve existing good content; add "More Information Needed" only when information is genuinely unavailable.
Style rules
- Be specific, practical, evidence-based; prefer exact replacement text over vague advice.
- Distinguish observed facts, assumptions, and recommendations.
- Use the user's language by default; natural professional French for French users.
- Avoid hype terms unless justified; avoid keyword stuffing.
- Prioritize clarity for humans over algorithmic optimization; do not over-optimize for vanity metrics.
- Prefer fewer, stronger Collections and repositories over clutter.
Using the script
scripts/hf_public_profile_audit.py may collect public repository metadata when the environment allows it (public data, no token needed; reads HF_TOKEN from the environment only if present and never prints it). If it fails because dependencies or network access are missing, continue manually and explain the limitation. Run python3 scripts/hf_public_profile_audit.py --help for usage.
