Taiwan Food Skill
Purpose
Help users navigate Taiwan's food scene — from night markets to fine dining, breakfast shops to late-night eats.
When to Activate
- User asks for food recommendations in Taiwan

Ordering & Etiquette
How to Order
Night Markets:
- Point at what you want
- Say number: 一個 (yī gè) = one, 兩個 (liǎng gè) = two
- 內用 (nèi yòng) = eat here, 外帶 (wài dài) = takeaway
- Pay cash (many don't take cards)
Restaurants:
- Often self-seating
- Write order on paper slip
- Or point at menu
- 買單 (mǎi dān) = bill please

Dietary Restrictions
Vegetarian (素食)
Taiwan is vegetarian-friendly (Buddhist influence).

⚠️ Warning: "Vegetable" dishes may have meat stock or oyster sauce. Always ask: 有肉嗎？(yǒu ròu ma?) = Is there meat?

Growing halal options in cities. Search: 清真 (qīng zhēn)

Food Safety
Taiwan has high food safety standards, but:
- Drink tap water? No. Buy bottled or use filtered.
- Ice in drinks? Usually safe in established shops.
- Street food? Generally safe. Look for busy stalls.
- Raw food? Sashimi OK at reputable places.
