  • 0 stars0 stars. Stars are a popularity signal and not a quality one, but at this level it is likely that nobody has read this closely except its author, and you would be relying on your own review.

What its author says it does

Copied from the file, not written here

Use when the user explicitly asks to brainstorm, compare directions, or explore a consequential creative/product/design choice whose requirements or trade-offs are genuinely unresolved. Do not use for routine edits, straightforward implementation, bug fixes with an established target, or tasks whose requested outcome is already clear.

Focused Brainstorming

Use brainstorming to improve a real decision, not to add ceremony.

Workflow

  1. Inspect the context already available. Do not ask for information the user supplied or the workspace can answer.
  2. Name the unresolved decision in one sentence.
  3. Ask at most one decision-critical question at a time, and only when its answer would change the recommendation.
  4. Present two or three materially different options. Include the main benefit, cost, risk, and reversibility of each.
  5. Recommend one option and explain the decisive trade-off.
  6. Record assumptions and the smallest validation step when uncertainty remains.

If the direction is already clear, stop brainstorming and proceed with the requested work. Request approval only when the choice changes scope, behavior, cost, or an irreversible outcome.

Output

  • Decision to make
  • Options and trade-offs
  • Recommendation
  • Assumptions or open risk
  • Next concrete step

Do not require a spec, plan, worktree, commit, or additional skill merely because brainstorming occurred.
