Design Brief Direction

Use this as the primary design skill before visual implementation when the product intent, audience, style direction, or acceptance target is not yet explicit.

Workflow

  1. Identify the product type, user job, audience expectations, brand posture, existing design assets, constraints, and implementation surface.
  2. Choose a coherent direction before choosing individual colors, fonts, effects, or components.
  3. Set style dials for visual variance, motion intensity, and information density so later implementation has a shared target.
  4. Name anti-patterns that would make this product look generic, off-brand, inaccessible, or hard to maintain.
  5. Produce a brief that can route into brand identity, reference analysis, design-system handoff, frontend polish, or visual QA.
