Canvas Design

Create a design philosophy — an aesthetic movement — then EXPRESS IT VISUALLY on a canvas. Output only .md, .pdf, and .png files. Always create original visual designs; never copy existing artists' work, to avoid copyright violations.

Complete this in two steps:

  1. Design philosophy creation (.md file)
  2. Express it on a canvas (.pdf or .png file)

Step 1 — Design philosophy creation

Create a VISUAL PHILOSOPHY (not layouts or templates) that will be interpreted through form, space, color, and composition; images, graphics, shapes, and patterns; minimal text as visual accent.

The critical understanding:

  • What is received: subtle input or instructions from the user — a foundation, never a constraint on creative freedom.
  • What is created: a design philosophy / aesthetic movement — a manifesto for an art movement.
  • What happens next: the philosophy is EXPRESSED VISUALLY — artifacts that are 90% visual design, 10% essential text.

Name the movement (1-2 words): "Brutalist Joy" / "Chromatic Silence" / "Metabolist Dreams".

Articulate the philosophy (4-6 substantial paragraphs) capturing how it manifests through space and form, color and material, scale and rhythm, composition and balance, visual hierarchy. Critical guidelines:

  • Avoid redundancy: each design aspect mentioned once — no repeating color/spatial/typographic points unless adding new depth.
  • Emphasize craftsmanship REPEATEDLY: the philosophy MUST stress that the final work looks like countless hours by someone at the absolute top of their field — "meticulously crafted," "the product of deep expertise," "painstaking attention," "master-level execution."
  • Leave creative space: specific about the aesthetic direction, yet concise enough that the expressing pass has room for interpretive choices at an extremely high level of craftsmanship.
  • Keep it generic: never mention the intention of the art, as if the philosophy could be used anywhere. Ideas communicate through space, form, color, composition — information lives in design, not paragraphs.

Output the design philosophy as a .md file. For five worked examples of the expected register, read references/philosophy-examples.md.

Deducing the subtle reference

CRITICAL STEP: before creating the canvas, identify the subtle conceptual thread of the original request. The topic is a subtle, niche reference embedded within the art itself — someone familiar with the subject should feel it intuitively, while others simply experience a masterful abstract composition. Like a jazz musician quoting another song: it enhances the work's depth without announcing itself. The philosophy provides the aesthetic language; the deduced topic provides the soul.

Step 2 — Canvas creation

Express the philosophy on a single, highly visual, design-forward PDF or PNG (unless more pages are requested) with museum/magazine-quality craftsmanship. Before drawing, read references/canvas-creation.md — the full composition language, typography rules, the mandatory second refinement pass, and the multi-page option.

Non-negotiables:

  • Sophistication always — this is art, never cartoony or amateur, whatever the subject.
  • Text minimal and visual-first; use varied fonts from the ./canvas-fonts directory; nothing overlaps or falls off the canvas.
  • Finish with the refinement pass, then output a single downloadable .pdf or .png alongside the philosophy .md.
