Peruse
Plan-vehicle review pipeline. Runs Stage 0 detector (semgrep + osv-scanner) plus security-reviewer and adversarial-reviewer in parallel against the current diff, validates each finding via issue-validator, aggregates a verdict, and writes a review JSON to `.mumei/plans/<slug>/reviews/<ts>.json`. Triggers when the user invokes /mumei:peruse on a plan-vehicle feature whose state.json has `pending_review=true` (set automatically when the last TaskCompleted matches task_created_count). On PASS, advances `phase` to `done` and prompts the user to run /mumei:shelve. On MAJOR_ISSUES, surfaces findings and leaves session-end and git-push blocks active until they are addressed.From its SKILL.md

Peruse — plan-vehicle review pipeline
This skill is the plan-vehicle counterpart of Phase 5 in /mumei:compose. It runs only against plan-vehicle features (state.json under .mumei/plans/<slug>/). For spec-vehicle review, use /mumei:compose (which drives the same pipeline as part of its lifecycle).
When to use
- After completing all TaskCreate/TaskCompleted work in a Claude plan-mode session, when
pending_review=trueis set in.mumei/plans/<slug>/state.json. - The Stop hook (L-R1) and the
git pushPreBash hook (L-R2) will block session-end / push until a passing review JSON exists.
When NOT to use
- For spec-vehicle features (run
/mumei:composeinstead). - Before all planned tasks have been marked completed (the skill aborts with a hint message).
- For projects without an active mumei feature.
Method
All steps below assume the current working directory is the project root and a git repo. The skill is conservative: it never edits source files, never spawns commits, and never auto-archives.
Step 1 — Resolve active feature and refuse non-plan-vehicle invocations
source "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/hooks/_lib/state.sh"
source "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/hooks/_lib/review.sh"
source "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/hooks/_lib/ledger.sh"

slug="$(mumei_current_feature 2>/dev/null || true)"
if [[ -z "$slug" ]]; then
echo "no active mumei feature (.mumei/current is empty); aborting" >&2
exit 0
fi
if ! mumei_state_is_plan_vehicle "$slug"; then
echo "/mumei:peruse is plan-vehicle only. Active feature '${slug}' is a spec-vehicle feature; use /mumei:compose to drive its review (Phase 5)." >&2
exit 0
fi
review_dir=".mumei/plans/${slug}/reviews"
state_path=".mumei/plans/${slug}/state.json"
Cost-log recording (automatic via SubagentStop hook)
Cost-log records (phase=after) are written automatically by
hooks/subagent-cost-log.sh when the SubagentStop event fires for any
of the 8 mumei reviewer / validator / curator subagents. Plan vehicle
records land under .mumei/plans/<slug>/cost-log.jsonl (the hook
resolves the path from .mumei/current and the present plan dir).
The mumei_cost_log_before / _after helpers in
hooks/_lib/cost-log.sh remain available for callers who want a
phase=before bookmark or wave/iteration metadata, but calling them
is not required — the SubagentStop hook is the authoritative path.
Aggregate via scripts/aggregate-cost.sh.
Reviewer prompt structure
Use hooks/_lib/reviewer-prompt.sh to build the reviewer Task prompt as
immutable prefix + variable suffix so Anthropic's prompt cache (5-min
TTL) hits across iterations:
source "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/hooks/_lib/reviewer-prompt.sh"
prompt="$(mumei_reviewer_prompt \
"security-reviewer" \
"$slug" "all" "$iter" \
"$diff" "$prior_findings" "$detector_block")"
# Pass $prompt to the Task tool's prompt argument.
Plan vehicle passes wave="all" to the helper; the rest is identical to
spec vehicle. Keep the prefix byte-identical across iterations to
preserve cache hits.
Step 2 — pending_review gate
pending="$(jq -r '.pending_review // false' "$state_path")"
created="$(jq -r '.task_created_count // 0' "$state_path")"
completed="$(jq -r '.task_completed_count // 0' "$state_path")"
if [[ "$pending" != "true" ]]; then
remaining=$((created - completed))
echo "review not triggered: pending_review=false (${completed}/${created} tasks complete; ${remaining} remaining)." >&2
echo "complete the remaining tasks first, then re-run /mumei:peruse." >&2
exit 0
fi
State is left untouched on this abort path; the user simply continues their task work and re-invokes /mumei:peruse later.
Step 3 — Iteration accounting
Plan vehicle does not have Wave structure, so wave is fixed at the literal string "all" (the short-circuit helper accepts "all" as a wildcard). The iteration counter is derived from existing review JSONs in review_dir:
prev_iter="$(find "$review_dir" -maxdepth 1 -type f -name '*.json' \
! -name '*-detectors.json' 2>/dev/null \
| xargs -I{} jq -r '.iteration // 0' {} 2>/dev/null \
| sort -n | tail -n1)"
prev_iter="${prev_iter:-0}"
current_iter=$((prev_iter + 1))
current_wave="all"
Step 4 — iter-N-all-PASS short-circuit
if prev_review="$(mumei_review_should_short_circuit "$review_dir" "$current_wave" "$current_iter")"; then
echo "iter $((current_iter - 1)) was clean (verdict=PASS, HIGH=0). Skipping iter ${current_iter}."
jq -n \
--arg slug "$slug" \
--argjson iteration "$current_iter" \
--arg short_circuited_from "$prev_review" \
'{feature: $slug, wave: "all", iteration: $iteration, verdict: "PASS",
summary: "Short-circuit — previous iter was clean (verdict=PASS, HIGH=0).",
short_circuited_from: $short_circuited_from,
findings_surfaced: [], findings_filtered: [],
next_iter_reviewers: [], detector_skipped: true, detector_reused_from: null}' \
| mumei_review_persist "$review_dir" "shortcircuit" >/dev/null
mumei_plan_state_set "$slug" '.phase' '"done"'
echo "phase advanced to done. Run /mumei:shelve ${slug} when ready."
exit 0
fi
Step 5 — Stage 0 detector
summary="$(mumei_review_run_detector "$review_dir" "$current_iter" "$CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT")"
rc=$?
case "$rc" in
0) ;;
2)
echo "detector failed; aborting before launching reviewers (see stderr)." >&2
exit 0
;;
*)
echo "detector returned unexpected rc=${rc}; treating as failure." >&2
exit 0
;;
esac
high_count="$(jq -r '.high_count // 0' <<<"$summary")"
detector_report="$(jq -r '.report_path // empty' <<<"$summary")"
detector_skipped="$(jq -r '.detector_skipped // false' <<<"$summary")"
detector_reused_from="$(jq -r '.detector_reused_from // empty' <<<"$summary")"
If the detector reports bypassed: true (set when MUMEI_BYPASS=1), treat high_count as 0 and continue.
Step 6 — Launch reviewers
Plan vehicle launches the same reviewer set as spec vehicle, including
spec-compliance-reviewer with a scope_source=plan.md parameter so
the reviewer compares the diff against the user-approved plan markdown
instead of requirements.md.
- iter 1 baseline: launch
spec-compliance-reviewer,security-reviewer, andadversarial-reviewerin parallel. Under fail-open (REQ-27.9),security-reviewerALWAYS launches regardless of detector HIGH count — candidate detector findings (semgrep / CodeQL / linters) are adjudicated through Step 7's gate, not treated as ground truth. Only ground_truth detectors (osv-scanner / secret-scan / type-check / test-check) block directly. - iter 2+ full sweep: launch all three always-on reviewers
(
spec-compliance-reviewer+security-reviewer+adversarial-reviewer) in parallel, exactly as iter 1 — peruse has no separate sequential stage. Do NOT derive the set from the previous review'snext_iter_reviewers, which may be a narrow legacy value on a feature reviewed before the diff-anchor upgrade: launching fewer than all three would PASS without the missing reviewers' cost-log records for the gating diff_hash, and the push-guard trace gate would reject the later push (Codex P1/P2). A clearing verdict requires every always-on reviewer to have run against the gating diff.
For each reviewer, use the Task tool with the appropriate subagent_type:
Task(subagent_type: "mumei:spec-compliance-reviewer",
prompt: "Review plan-vehicle feature ${slug}. Wave: all. scope_source=.mumei/plans/${slug}/plan.md. Diff: $(git diff $(git merge-base origin/main HEAD)). ${detector_block_if_any}")
Task(subagent_type: "mumei:security-reviewer",
prompt: "Review plan-vehicle feature ${slug}. Diff: $(git diff $(git merge-base origin/main HEAD)). <spec_context>$(cat ".mumei/plans/${slug}/plan.md")</spec_context> ${detector_block_if_any}")
Task(subagent_type: "mumei:adversarial-reviewer",
prompt: "Review plan-vehicle feature ${slug}. Diff: ... . Prior findings: ${prior_findings_json}.")
The spec-compliance-reviewer agent body branches on the scope_source
extension: requirements.md → spec-vehicle EARS comparison;
plan.md → plan-vehicle natural-language plan comparison
(scope_creep / silent_reinterpretation findings only, no
ac_drift / missing_ac).
Input asymmetry (REQ-22.4 / REQ-22.5): the security-reviewer prompt
carries the verbatim plan body inside a <spec_context> block (the
orchestrator cats .mumei/plans/${slug}/plan.md into the prompt, mirroring
the spec-vehicle injection) so it judges the diff against intent, while the
adversarial-reviewer prompt carries the diff and prior findings only — no
plan — so it evaluates cold. Keep this asymmetry intact: it is the sole
diversity mechanism (both run on the same model; model rotation is
intentionally not used). Do NOT inject the plan into the adversarial prompt.
When ground_truth detectors produce HIGH findings, inject them into all running
reviewer prompts as a <detector_findings ground_truth="true"> block exactly as
Phase 5 does (see skills/compose/SKILL.md Stage 1). Candidate detector findings
(semgrep / CodeQL / linters) are NOT injected as ground truth — they flow through
the Step 7 adjudication gate (fail-open, REQ-27.9).
Step 7 — Per-issue validation
For each finding returned by the reviewers, apply the same severity-conditional gate as Phase 5 Stage 4:
- HIGH / CRITICAL →
issue-validatormandatory. - MEDIUM / LOW + reviewer.confidence == HIGH → skip with
valid_by_assertion, except for the ~20% hash-sample calibration path (shasum -a 256 | cut -c1∈ {0,1,2}). - All other cases →
issue-validatormandatory.
Before launching a validator, apply the cross-feature ledger annotation
(REQ-22.8): compute the finding's fingerprint with mumei_ledger_fingerprint
and look up mumei_ledger_prior_fp_count (both from hooks/_lib/ledger.sh).
When the count is > 0, append a <ledger_note> to the validator prompt
stating the fingerprint was a false positive N times before — as DATA only.
The validator decides independently; a HIGH/CRITICAL is never auto-suppressed
on a ledger mark (REQ-22.9).
The validator returns decision: "valid" | "invalid" | "unsure". Keep valid and valid_by_assertion; move invalid to findings_filtered; surface unsure with a warning marker.
The validator also returns severity_action and axes.reproducible (grounding, REQ-22.2). Merge each validator result into its finding under a validator object ({decision, confidence, severity_action, axes}), then apply the deterministic advisory-downgrade before aggregating the verdict:
# Stamp severity_action="report_only" on HIGH/CRITICAL findings the validator
# judged not reproducible (ungrounded). They stay in surfaced_json — never
# dropped — but no longer pin the verdict (REQ-22.2 / REQ-22.3).
# The helper fails loud (rc 1) when surfaced_json is not a JSON array; abort
# rather than aggregating a verdict from malformed input (risks a false PASS).
if ! surfaced_json="$(mumei_review_apply_advisory_downgrade "$surfaced_json")"; then
echo "::error::advisory-downgrade failed (findings_surfaced is not a JSON array) — aborting review" >&2
exit 2
fi

# shell, so functions sourced in Step 1 do not persist here.

Step 8.4 — Record findings to the cross-feature ledger (REQ-22.7)
After the review JSON is persisted, append every validated finding (from
BOTH findings_surfaced and findings_filtered) to the cross-feature
ledger. findings_filtered carries the decision: "invalid" entries —
the false-positive marks the ledger remembers so a later review can
annotate the validator. The orchestrator is the single writer.

Step 8.5 — Memory candidate curation (sync, non-blocking)
After the review JSON is persisted (Step 8) and before phase transition (Step 9),
first stamp memory_candidates_count (total candidates across all reviewers)
onto the persisted review JSON, so push-guard's curator advisory
(mumei_review_curator_complete) can fire for plan-vehicle features too —
otherwise a skipped curation on the plan path would never surface.

Then walk every reviewer's memory_candidates array and dispatch each candidate to
memory-curator. The curator scores against the 7-axis rubric (>= 15/21
→ ADD or UPDATE, else SKIP). The orchestrator validates the curator's strict JSON
via mumei_memory_validate_curator_output and on validator pass applies the operation
to .claude/agent-memory/<reviewer>/MEMORY.md via mumei_memory_apply_operation.
Failure of any single candidate is non-blocking — the orchestrator emits
[mumei] curator output invalid: <reason> to stderr, treats that candidate as SKIP,
and continues. Plan vehicle's reviewer set is the full
spec-compliance + security + adversarial triple, identical to spec
vehicle.

The same [mumei] curator output invalid: <reason> format and same caps (max 5 per

candidate and is tools: Read only; the orchestrator's bash file ops in
mumei_memory_apply_operation do not pass through pre-edit-guard.sh, so the
M1 deny rule blocking LLM-driven Edit/Write does not interfere with the legitimate
write path.

After Step 8.5 returns control, run the deterministic structural integrity check

helper invokes scripts/lint-hook-ids.sh and scripts/lint-docs-drift.sh and
returns a JSON array of findings — empty when both pass, one entry per failing
script when either fails. Each entry carries severity=HIGH and
source=structural-integrity.
If the array is non-empty, prepend each entry to findings_surfaced of the
review JSON written in Step 8 and override the overall verdict to

same way Stage 0 detector HIGH findings supersede security-reviewer.
