Rhyme Scheme Validation
Modern Mandarin Rhyme Rules
- Rhyme: The end character of every second line (lines 2, 4, 6, 8) must share the same final sound.
- Tone Consistency: While strict classical tonal patterns (Ping-Ze) are complex, ensuring that the rhyme characters belong to the same rhyme family in modern pronunciation is paramount for readability.
Validation Steps
- Identify the rhyme sound for the even-numbered lines.
- Ensure the selected characters at the end of each rhyme line share the same vowel base.
- Verify that the poem consists of 8 lines, keeping the title on a separate, dedicated first line.
Examples of Common Rhyme Families
- "a" family: 家 (jiā), 花 (huā), 沙 (shā)
- "i/u/ü" family: 飞 (fēi), 归 (guī), 晖 (huī)
