Comprehensive Modern Mandarin Rhyme (中华新韵)

In modern Mandarin rhyming, we focus on the final sound (vowel/ending).

1. Core Rhyme Groups

一平 (a, ia, ua): 家, 花, 答, 瓦.
二波 (o, e, uo): 河, 歌, 坐, 磨.
四皆 (ie, üe): 铁, 蝶, 别, 夜.
五微 (ei, ui): 归, 扉, 谁, 泪 (note: lei is oblique, but rhyme is for Level tones).
八寒 (an, ian, uan, üan): 山, 烟, 关, 眠, 园, 田.
九十唐 (ang, iang, uang): 乡, 霜, 望, 降.
十一庚 (eng, ing, ong, iong): 风, 兵, 明, 晴, 争.

2. Selecting a Rhyme

Choose one rhyme group and stick to it for lines 2, 4, 6, 8 (and optionally 1).
Mandarin Tones: Use 1st (阴平) or 2nd (阳平) tones for rhyming lines in regulated verse.
