Security Requirements

Always use HTTPS
Store tokens in HttpOnly cookies (not localStorage)
Hash passwords with bcrypt (cost factor 12+)
Implement rate limiting on auth endpoints
Rotate secrets regularly
Never transmit tokens in URLs
