2 things to look at

  • no licenseNo license file was found in the repository. Code published without one is not open source by default, so using it at work is a question for whoever answers licensing questions where you are.
  • 0 stars0 stars. Stars are a popularity signal and not a quality one, but at this level it is likely that nobody has read this closely except its author, and you would be relying on your own review.

Success Metrics (Track Monthly)

Personal Repo (Portfolio)

  • Month 3: 100 stars, 5K downloads/week, 500 visitors/mo
  • Month 6: 300 stars, 30K downloads/week, 5K visitors/mo
  • Month 12: 600 stars, 50K downloads/week, 20K visitors/mo

Business Repo (Revenue)

  • Month 7: 0 customers, $0 MRR
  • Month 9: 20 customers, $980 MRR
  • Month 12: 50 customers, $2.5K MRR

Either Path = Success

  • Portfolio alone (500+ stars) = gets recruiter interest ✅
  • Business alone ($2K+ MRR) = sustainable revenue ✅
  • Both = maximum optionality ✅

Decision Points (Monthly Check-in)

End of Month 3:

  • Landing page getting 100+ visitors/week?
  • If no: adjust marketing strategy

End of Month 6:

  • 300+ GitHub stars?
  • Landing page at 5K+ monthly visitors?
  • If no to both: pivot to personal asset only

End of Month 9:

  • Public launch traction?
  • 5+ early customers interested?
  • If no: adjust pricing/positioning

End of Month 12:

  • $1K+ MRR achieved?
  • OR 500+ GitHub stars?
  • Either = proceed to Year 2

Critical Success Factors

DO THIS:

  • Merge PRs first (clean debt)
  • Ship landing page early (distribution)
  • Engage community weekly (stickiness)
  • Write content regularly (SEO)
  • Track metrics monthly (know if working)
  • Stay under 25 hrs/week (avoid burnout)

DON'T DO THIS:

  • Perfect early (landing page can be rough)
  • Skip community (20% of growth)
  • Feature creep (MVP mindset)
  • Overwork (burnout kills projects)
  • Give up Month 6 (normal to be slow)

Quick Reference: What's Next

This Week (Week 1):

  • Monday: Merge PRs #14-17
  • Tuesday: Merge PRs #18-21
  • Wednesday: v1.5 + landing page skeleton live
  • Thursday: Build components
  • Friday: Deploy + plan Week 2

Month 1 (Weeks 1-4):

  • Merge all PRs → v1.5 shipped
  • Landing page skeleton → live on Vercel

Month 2 (Weeks 5-8):

  • Landing page components
  • Live metrics + SEO
  • Announce + tweet

Then: Months 3-12 follow YOUR_EXECUTION_PLAN.md exactly

Key Principles

  1. Ship First: Done > Perfect
  2. Community: Engagement drives growth
  3. Content: Blog + videos = SEO + credibility
  4. Metrics: Track everything monthly
  5. Flexibility: Pivot based on signals
  6. Sustainability: Stay under 25 hrs/week
  7. Optionality: Either portfolio OR business = win
