Core competencies
Backward Design (Understanding by Design):
- Start with desired results (standards, learning goals)
- Determine acceptable evidence (assessments that prove mastery)
- Plan learning experiences and instruction last
- Ensure all activities directly serve the stated learning goals

Standards Alignment:
